UNWIND – India’s Largest Student-Led School Festival
UNWIND is India’s largest school event, held annually to nurture 21st-century skills in students. Since its inception in 2008, this one-day mega fest has evolved into a vibrant, fully student-led extravaganza, attracting around 30,000 visitors each year. The event features over 100 food stalls serving delectable national and international cuisines, and 100+ game stalls brimming with fun and excitement.
Student-Led Leadership – The festival is entirely planned and executed by Class XI students (Commerce and Humanities). A Student Office Bearer Committee operates through eight specialized departments: Marketing, Finance, Logistics, Resource, CSR, Advertisement, IT, and Corps, each led by a Director and Joint Director, supported by student Advisors. This framework fosters leadership, strategic thinking, and teamwork among students.
Event Highlights:
- Holistic Parenting Award: Celebrating parents of school achievers for their unwavering support.
- Talent Showcase: Students mesmerize audiences with songs, dance, and musical performances across four dedicated stages for Junior, Middle, and Senior Secondary students.
- Strolling Extravaganza: Visitors enjoy a lively carnival atmosphere with delicious food and exciting games.
Embedding Empathy: UNWIND doubles as a fundraising platform, with sponsorships supporting underprivileged schools and communities in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. The festival brings joy to countless lives through its philanthropic initiatives.
Flagship Initiative - The 100 Libraries Project: Students envision and execute the creation of fully functional libraries in underprivileged schools, including teacher training on book and record management, fostering literacy and lifelong learning.
Learning Platform: UNWIND is more than a festival, it is a dynamic learning ground. Students enhance communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership while cultivating empathy, humility, and innovation.
